PHOTOS: Renovation Progress
The Indiana State Fairgrounds is currently renovating the 73-year-old Fairgrounds Coliseum. As part of that renovation, a Youth Arena is being added to the Indiana State Fairgrounds venue portfolio.
The 28,000 sq. ft. Youth Arena is scheduled to open for the 2013 Indiana State Fair and will become a focal point for youth, agriculture, and educational programs, as well as expanding the Indiana State Fairgrounds public ice skating and youth hockey programs. Seating capacities will vary based on event layouts, but plans include seating for up to 1,000 in the hockey floor setup.
The project's architecture and engineering is being managed by Kansas City-based Populous and the construction management is being overseen by Hunt Construction Group of Indianapolis.
