General Information

Education Field Trips

Purpose:  An opportunity for Classroom and Home Educators to enhance classroom curriculum by utilizing an educational experience that cannot be accomplished in the classroom setting.  Educators will be equipped with activities and ideas that can build upon the students’ exploration and interaction at the Indiana State Fair.

STEM Field Trip

The State’s Largest Classroom will be hosting a fun interactive fieldtrip which will enhance classroom curriculum in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math at the Indiana State Fair.  The experience has been developed around 7th thru 12th grade learning standards.  The experience will have students exploring The Glass Barn, investigating the design and movement of the Ferris Wheel and so much more!  This is a free opportunity to schools and will be available on TBD dates.

Indiana Heritage Field Trip

The State’s Largest Classroom will be hosting a self-guided fieldtrip which will enhance classroom curriculum in Indiana History at the Indiana State Fair.  The experience has been developed around the 4th grade learning standards.  The experience will have students exploring the history of Indiana Agriculture through exploring and engaging in the educational living exhibit of the Pioneer Village.  After participating in Pioneer Village the students will interact with the organizations and agencies participating in Indiana Heritage Day at the Indiana State Fair.  This is a free opportunity to schools and will be available on TBD date.

Wonder Trail Field Trip  

The State’s Largest Classroom will be hosting a self-guided fieldtrip around the Indiana State Fair which will enhance classroom curriculum by utilizing agriculture as the teaching model.  Students will have the opportunity to explore agriculture by following the trail around the fairgrounds engaging in twelve different interactive exhibits.  As students experience the exhibits they will create an understanding of the importance of agriculture.  The Wonder Trail has been developed around 2nd thru 6th grade learning standards.  This is a free opportunity to schools and will be available during the weekdays of the 2014 Indiana State Fair, August 1-17.
