The State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana (SSACI) is one of the top-rated state financial
aid agencies in the country. Since 1965, our mission has been to make college affordable through need-based grants and to allow choice by granting awards to those attending public, independent
and proprietary colleges. SSACI attempts to increase college preparation through its Twenty-first Century Scholar program and by giving increased grant amounts to those graduating from high school with Academic or Technical Honors Diplomas.
SSACI accomplishes this mission with:
In addition to making awards, SSACI promotes awareness of Indiana financial assistance programs through its web site, guidance counselor workshops, community forums, and other statewide events such as College Goal Sunday.
SSACI has a self-service website, called eStudent, for students who have filed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as residents of Indiana. The eStudent site allows students to view their state grant award, grant history, as well as alerts students to any issues with the FAFSA that could eliminate state aid eligibility. Please visit www.ssaci.in.gov/estudent for more information.
