2013 Vendor Forms

Currently, the Statehouse Market is full for the season for both produce vendors and food trucks. If you would like to be on our waiting list, please apply.

The Statehouse Market is a unique opportunity to sell to more than 12,000 state employees, as well as other business professionals in the area. We have the ability to promote and highlight the market through direct email and other marketing techniques to all 12,000 + employees. Food trucks are invited and sprinkled throughout the vendors as well. Offering hot, delicious lunches, the trucks have a significant social media following, which brings in more customers.


The Statehouse Market is a grower-only market. We have a list of what type of products are allowed at our market in our Statehouse Market Guidlines. Please email SPD Communications if you have any questions on what is acceptable to sell.

Vendors must submit the following, along with a signed application, before selling at the market:

  • Provide copy of retail registration from Indiana State Board of Health (if applicable)
  • Provide a copy of current insurance certificate
  • Provide a copy of vehicle insurance
  • Pay all applicable fees

Food trucks must submit the following, along with a signed application, before selling at the market:

  • A complete Registration Application As A Temporary Retail Food Establishment form from Indiana State Dept. of Health. Send the signed form to ISDH (see instructions on form to mail or fax) along with the latest inspection report on your commissary and their mobile truck, if applicable.  The inspection report must be from a food regulatory program (i.e. ISDH, local health department, etc).
  • Copy of the current certificate of insurance

Food trucks will pay the $8 fee for attending the market to the Market Manager on each day they attend.

Farmers' Market Tips

Are you a new employee or not attended a farmer's market before? Below are some tips to help you prep for our market:

  1. Bring Your Own Bags & Baskets
    Many vendors don’t supply or choose not to supply customers with disposable bags. Bringing your own bags cuts down on cost and waste.
  2. Bring a Cooler
    The Statehouse Market is hosting more than just fruit and vegetable farmers. You may find meats, milk, cheese or other items that require refrigeration. By bringing a cooler, you can keep fresh foods cold until you head home at the end of the day.
  3. Bring Cash and Small Bills
    Most vendors accept cash only. Avoid needing much change by paying in small bills.   
  4. Know the Crop Calendar
    Check out the ISDA Farmers' Market Seasonal Chart to see what is in season when. Buy fresh, buy local and buy in season.
  5. Think "Whole Foods"
    Remember, most food comes to the farmers market without being processed first.  Carrots come whole and unpeeled. Corn is sold in the husk. Just-harvested produce may take some additional care, but the superior flavor is worth the effort.
  6. Get Advice
    If you find a new vegetable you want to try, ask the farmer how to prepare it. For the best tips specifically ask how they like to eat it.
