The Secretary of State's Securities Division Enforcement fund provides the grant to fund the Indiana High School Stock Market Simulation competition.
"I am pleased to present the Indiana Council for Economic Education with this $60,000 grant from the Indiana Secretary of State’s Securities Division fund for the seventeenth year," Rokita said. "The Indiana Stock Market game is a wonderful teaching tool for Hoosier students, teaching them the basics of the stock market, and I hope to see similar financial literacy focused programs develop for our students."
The Indiana Council for Economic Education is a non-profit, educational organization located at Purdue University in Lafayette. Founded in 1954, the ICEE is a comprehensive partnership of leaders from business, labor, agriculture, education, and government dedicated to increasing economic literacy in Indiana. Its mission is to prepare students to become active citizens and productive member of our economy by providing them with the ability to make sound economic decisions.
