Auto Dealer Services Division

Auto Dealer Services Division > Documentation Changes > Name and/or Address Change Name and/or Address Change

A Dealer is required to notify the Auto Dealer Services Division when there is a change in the name or address of the business.

Name Change

In order to satisfy the requirements to notify the Auto Dealer Serices Division of a change in the name of a dealer and apply for an amended license, the dealer must:

  • Complete a new application with the new name
  • Submit a certificate of Liability with the new name 
  • Submit photographs of sign with new name
  • Submit a copy of the Retail Merchants Certificate with new name
  • Pay the five dollar ($5.00) fee for the amended license
  • Submit original bond or bond rider, with original signatures, showing new name and
  • Submit a copy of articles of incorporation or articles of organization to match the new name, if applicable

Address Change

In order to satisfy the requirement to notify the Auto Dealer Services Division of a change in a dealer's established place of business address and apply for an amended license, the dealer must:

  • Complete a new application with the new name
  • Submit a Certificate of Liability with new address 
  • Submit photographs of the new building, lot and sign
  • Submit a copy of the Retail Merchants Certificate with new address
  • Have the bottom of application completed by local zoning authority
  • Pay the five dollar ($5.00) fee for the amended license and
  • Submit the original bond or bond rider, with original signatures, showing new address.

Emergency 911 Address Change

In order to satisfy the requirement to notify the Auto Dealer Services Division of a change in the established place of business address and apply for an amended license in the case of a 911 address change, the dealer must:

  • Submit a certificate of Liability with new address (can only accept Certificate of Insurance for watercraft dealer name change)
  • Submit a written statement from Planning Commission showing 911 change
  • Pay the five dollar ($5.00) fee for the amended license and 
  • Submit an original bond or bond rider, with original signatures, showing new address.
