(Indianapolis) – The Indianapolis Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) has awarded the 2008 Indianapolis Choice Award to Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita. The award was presented this week at the chapter's annual awards ceremony and holiday luncheon.

Criteria for the Choice Award include helping women achieve their potential, improving the business climate for women, and helping women fulfill the potential of their economic and social contributions to Indiana.

"I'm deeply honored by this award," said Secretary Rokita. "During these challenging economic times, an organization like NAWBO is an especially important source of leadership and a partner in helping to protect our state's economic vitality. I look forward to continuing to work with NAWBO-Indianapolis to make Indiana more business friendly for women business owners."

Since his election to his first term in 2002, Secretary Rokita has focused on working with groups like NAWBO-Indianapolis to modernize Indiana's business legal climate as well as embracing new technology such as his office's online business service portal to make it easier for businesses to navigate government and regulation.
