Washington D.C., (June 17)- Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita is in Washington, D.C. today and tomorrow to serve as a member of the Board of Advisors for the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC). The EAC is an independent commission created by the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) of 2002 to provide guidance on the federal legislation and offer best practices and resources to election officials throughout the nation.
As Indiana Secretary of State, Rokita serves as Indianaâ€™s Chief Elections Officer. He is also president of the National Association of Secretaries of State.
While in Washington, Rokita is reviewing and advising on the following issues:

Rokita said. â€œWe have had great success in Indiana implementing recent election reforms, and I am honored to also work at the national level to ensure election integrity and encourage participation across our country.
Previous to his appointment on the Advisory Board, Rokita served on the nine-member executive board of the EACâ€™s Standards Board from 2005 through 2007
