INDIANAPOLIS (February 8, 2010) -- The state of Indiana will recognize outstanding career and technical education students, programs, and personnel at the 26th Indiana Career and Technical Education Awards for Excellence ceremony on Tuesday, February 9.

The program identifies and recognizes students, programs, guidance/career services and active partnerships that contribute to high quality career and technical education in Indiana. The program is sponsored by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development in cooperation with the Indiana Career and Technical Education Association.

Chris Guidry, Director of Career and Technical Education at the Indiana Department of Workforce Development will be making opening remarks, and Diane Willis of Lee/Willis Communications will introduce the awards recipients.

The awards ceremony will take place at the Indiana Government Conference Center Auditorium beginning at 2:15 p.m. in Indianapolis.

In addition to the awards ceremony, a luncheon will be held during which Matt Fleck, Secondary Career & Technical Education State Director with the Indiana Department of Education will speak. The luncheon program is scheduled to begin at 11:30 p.m. in Indiana Government Center South conference rooms A, B, and C.
