Leo and Cedarville Schools Honored with Four Star Award

STATEHOUSE- Leo Elementary and Cedarville Elementary Schools were awarded as Indiana's Four Star Schools, which is the state's highest honor. The award was given out to 188 schools statewide for the 2008-2009 school year.

The Four Star School award is judged on three areas of criteria: attendance rates, student achievement and performance on the I-STEP+. The schools honored represent the top 25 percent of schools in the state.

"As a former teacher, this award makes me extremely proud," Rep. Phyllis Pond (R-New Haven) said.

"Educating our youth is a very tough, yet a very rewarding job. I am thrilled to see Leo and Cedarville schools being honored for going above and beyond their responsibilities. Congratulations Leo and Cedarville."
