New rates for the City of Fort Wayne's municipal water utility will take effect January 1, 2013.
The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) issued an October 17, 2012 order (21 pages) approving a settlement agreement among all of the rate case's formal parties (the City of Fort Wayne, the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor, the City of New Haven, and General Motors).

An IURC public field hearing was held on May 31, 2012 in Fort Wayne. The OUCC issued news releases on April 10 and May 14 to invite consumer comments.
This case only affects the city's water rates. Municipal sewer and stormwater rates are not under IURC jurisdiction.
