New base rates for Ohio Valley Gas (OVG) were approved on December 5, 2012.
In its 17-page order, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) approved a settlement agreement between OVG and the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor (OUCC).
Under the agreement, the utility's monthly $14.50 residential customer charge will not change. Increases to volumetric parts of the base rate will vary by service territory. The order will provide OVG with approximately $3.6 million in new annual revenues (compared to the $4.5 million OVG originally sought and the $2.9 million recommended in the OUCC's July 2012 testimony).
An IURC public field hearing was held July 11, 2012 in Winchester, Indiana. The OUCC issued news releases on April 10, 2012 and June 28, 2012 to invite consumer comments.
Additional case documents are available by viewing the IURC's public file and entering docket number 44147.
