New base rates for South Eastern Indiana Natural Gas Co. were approved on November 7, 2012. In its order, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) approved a settlement agreement between the utility and the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor (OUCC).

The agreement will increase the utility's monthly residential customer charge from $8.92 to $11.00. Overall, the order will provide South Eastern Indiana Natural Gas Co. with nearly $163,000 in new annual operating revenues. By comparison, the utility originally requested an increase of nearly $257,000. The OUCC, in its May 17, 2012 testimony, recommended limiting the increase to approximately $103,000.
