New base electric rates for Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) were approved on February 13, 2013. In its 143-page order, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) granted an annual revenue increase of approximately $85 million. In a March 14, 2013 order on reconsideration, the IURC raised the increase to nearly $92 million.

In closing arguments before the IURC, I&M sought an additional $170.1 million in annual operating revenues; the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor (OUCC) recommended limiting the increase to $30.7 million.

The OUCC has appealed this case to the Indiana Court of Appeals. This page will be updated based on future developments.

For more information on the OUCC's position and testimony before the Commission, please see our April 27, 2012 news release.
