Current rates for South Haven Sewer Works, doing business as Aqua Indiana, Inc., were approved on October 19, 2011. For a copy of the IURC's 13-page order, please click here.

The order approved a settlement agreement between the utility and the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor (OUCC), establishing a flat, monthly residential sewer rate of $76.86 in the utility's Porter County service territory. Aqua Indiana requested a new rate of $79.90 when initiating this case in November 2010.

Prior to reaching the agreement, the OUCC filed testimony recommending that the new rate be limited to $75.54. For an overview, please see the OUCC's May 6, 2011 news release.

The OUCC issued a March 21, 2011 news release inviting consumer comments. An IURC public field hearing was held in South Haven on April 6, 2011.
