Van Buren Water, Inc., which provides service in Monroe County, is seeking a rate increase in IURC Cause No. 44566-U.

Under the utility's request, a monthly residential bill for a customer using 5,000 gallons would rise from $28.05 to $36.75.

In its report filed on April 13, 2015, the OUCC recommends limiting that amount to $33.19.

The OUCC issued a December 10, 2014 news release to invite consumer comments.
