Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) provides natural gas service in 32 counties.

Base Rates

NIPSCO's current base gas rates were approved in November 2010.

IURC public field hearings were held in July 2010 in Gary, Fort Wayne, and South Bend; OUCC news releases announcing the hearings and inviting consumer comments were issued in June and July.

Seven-Year Infrastructure Replacement Plan

Under a new Indiana law, NIPSCO is seeking approval of a 7-year plan for infrastructure improvements, along with incremental rate increases as the projects proceed. Project costs in the plan total about $713 million. To learn more about this case, please click here

Quarterly Gas Cost Adjustments

Natural gas utilities may adjust rates on a quarterly basis, subject to OUCC review and IURC approval, to recover wholesale commodity costs. To review NIPSCO's gas cost adjustment filings, visit the IURC's Electronic Document System and enter docket number 43629.
