Indiana state employees and State Library patrons now have unlimited online access to 31 popular magazines through Zinio – the world’s largest newsstand. The Indiana State Library subscribes to multi-user access for top health-focused and industry-relevant publications.

The State Library offers an extensive collection of downloadable audiobooks. Indiana state employees and State Library patrons now have online access to 200 classic titles in audio format from your computer or portable device.

Subscription Databases
State employees can access proprietary license database at no cost at the Indiana State Library. Need an Indy Star article from the past 30 years? We have them! Want to research your family history? Save hundreds in subscription fees by accessing popular genealogy databases like Ancestory.com and HeritageQuest.
The State Library offers full in-house access to the following databases.
- AmericanAncestors.org New England Historic Genealogical Society databases.
- Ancestry Library Edition Hundreds of databases including indexes and images to US Federal Census records.
- FirstSearch Databases and a comprehensive catalog of libraries in the United States.
- Genealogist's Newspaper Search Index to MILLIONS of vital records in newspapers (especially Indiana).
- HeritageQuest Hundreds of full-text books and other sources.
- NewspaperArchive – “World’s largest online newspaper database.” Includes over 270 historic Indiana titles.
- ProQuest Indianapolis Star (May 21, 1991 - Present) The indexing covers not only complete bibliographic information but also companies, people, products, etc. Click here for an index of Indianapolis newspaper holdings from 1848 - 1991.
- ProQuest Obituaries Search obituaries and death notices from prominent newspapers, such as The New York Times (dating back to 1851).
