How well is your community, neighborhood, town, etc. geographically kept intact within a legislative district? Do you feel that one or more parties are typically underrepresented? Does one party always have landslide victories?
How well do you believe your state senator and/or state representative represents your interests and those of your community?
Do you feel that your current legislative districts are politically competitive? Why or why not?
What geographical locations would you include in your state legislative district? (Ideas to consider: neighborhoods, townships, towns or cities, school districts, zip codes, counties, and media markets.) Why would you include that location?
Currently, legislators consider contiguity, compactness, and equal population distribution when drawing maps. What standard(s), if any, would you add to this list for consideration?
If the census data reveals that your legislative district's population has seen little change, would you feel a new map for that district should be drawn this year? Why or why not?
What could the General Assembly do to make it easier for you to get involved in the process?
Access to data and mapmaking software will likely be available at limited locations around the state for public use in drawing and suggesting maps. Where would you like to see public access to these tools? (For example: public libraries, county courthouses, BMV offices...)
