    SEC. 1. That section two of an act entitled "An act concerning the incorporation of the trustees of Walnut Ridge cemetery, of Jeffersonville, Indiana," approved February 15, 1840, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 2. That the trustees of said Walnut Ridge cemetery, shall be three in number, to be selected by the lot owners of said cemetery, at an election to be held on the first Tuesday after the second Monday of August of each year.
    The lot owners of said Walnut Ridge cemetery shall make such by-laws, rules and regulations relative to the election of trustees, and their successors, and to amend said by-laws, from time to time, as to them may seem best.
    Said trustees shall have power to lay out and ornament the grounds, to dispose of and manage burial lots, to appoint suitable officers and agents, and designate their several duties and compensations, and make such rules and regulations from time to time for the government of lot holders, and visitors to said cemetery, as they may deem necessary, to purchase ground adjoining, for the purpose of enlarging the burial ground, and garden for the superintendent, sexton and other officers: Provided, That the extent of the ground to be appropriated under this act shall in no case exceed fifty acres.
