Meet Kathy Heuer

Rep. Heuer is a former small business owner and is a graduate of Indiana University with a degree in Education. She is a real estate broker associate with Orizon Development and Management in Whitley County. Kathy and husband Jim share 7 children and 12 grandchildren.

Previously, Kathy was a Columbia City Common Council member for 8 years, was a member of the Columbia City Housing Authority, Columbia City Board of Works, Columbia City Plan Commission, had served on the Whitley County United Way Board of Directors and was Co-Chairman of the United Way Campaign in Whitley County for 2 years. Also, she has held the positions for Vice Chairman and the Whitley County Republican Party.

Currently, Kathy serves on the Whitley County Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors, the Blue River Senior Housing Corp. (a non-profit organization that builds low income housing for senior citizens in Whitley County), and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Indiana Association of United Ways and the Community Action of Northeast Indiana.

“My goals as a State Representative are to embrace the values and beliefs of my district, to work toward better economic development strategies in order to bring jobs to Northeast Indiana; to protect Hoosier taxpayers by balancing the state budget, and to fight for continued quality education for the children of Indiana."
