Meet David Yarde


Rep. David Yarde II is serving his second term as the District 52 representative in the Indiana House. He is a member of three House Committees -- Roads and Transportation Committee, Utilities and Energy Committee and the Elections and Apportionments Committee.

Rep. Yarde attended Indiana University - Bloomington, where he received both his Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science degrees. A 5th grade teacher at Northcrest School -- part of Fort Wayne Community Schools -- Rep. Yarde has more than 17 years of experience in school administration.

Rep. Yarde is an active citizen of the community and is involved with numerous organizations. These include the Scottish Rite; Shriners of North America, Indiana Farm Bureau and the National Rifle Association. Rep. Yarde is also an experienced leader in local government.

He severed 14 years on the DeKalb County Council. In addition, Rep. Yarde was a member of the Greater Garrett Plan Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals and Keyser Township Advisory Board.

Rep. Yarde has two sons with his wife Julie, who owns JY Design & Print Inc., and resides in Garrett, Ind. Justin, 28, is a registered nurse, and Dakota, 16, is in high school. Rep. Yarde is the fifth generation to live on his family's farm, making him a true Hoosier. In his spare time, Rep. Yarde enjoys antique automobiles, hunting and fishing.
