Franklin Community High School; College credits through Indiana University, Valencia Community College and Northwestern UniversityPrior to John's service to Johnson County, he served in the United States Army for six years as a Staff Sergeant. He then went on to serve as the Director of Highway and Engineering and Fleet Management Director. John has served as Chairman of the Johnson County Board of Commissions for the past 4 years, the Johnson County Council and the White River Advisory Board for a total of 14 years, and has also served as Chairman of the Johnson County Republican Party. John, currently, is the President of JLP Enterprises and Irrigation Solutions as well as a Chief Deputy with the Sheriff's Department with 20 years of service. John and his wife, Mary, have 4 children and 3 grandchildren and are active members of the Greenwood Christian Church.
