        A RESOLUTION recognizing the Highland Little League 12-Year-Old All-Star team.
    

    Whereas, The Highland Little League 12-Year-Old All-Star team captured the Indiana State Championship with a 1-0 victory over South Bend-East Side;

    Whereas, The July 26, 2004, championship victory marked the third state championship for a Highland Little League team;

    Whereas, The program won the 1970 U.S. title and the 1975 state title;

    Whereas, Pitcher Ken Mahala, Jr. scored the game's only

run, pitched a two-hitter, and struck out ten for the victory;

    Whereas, As the Indiana state champions, the Highland All-Stars earned the right to participate in the Great Lakes Regional, including state champions from Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, and Wisconsin, where they were runners up;

    Whereas, The Highland Little League championship was the result of the efforts of a dedicated group of 13 outstanding young men, their coaches and manager, and the loving parents and grandparents who have given their time and efforts: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:


    SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives congratulates the Highland 12-Year-Old All-Stars on their victory in the Indiana State Championship game and wishes them continued success in the future.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives shall transmit a copy of this resolution to team members Mike Bremer, Kevin Stiglitz, Kenny Mahala, Austin Evenhouse, John Livingston, Michael Hanchar, Matt Spretnjak, D.J. Maginot, Brian Geissler, Tariq Suboh, Jordan Ravesloot, Scott Puplava, Nick Kovacich, coaches Jeff Stiglitz and Jim Puplava, and manager Ken Mahala.
