Notice of Proposed Rule Amendment by the Indiana Supreme Court Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure for Public Comment

To the Bench, Bar and Public:

Pursuant to Ind. Trial Rule 80, the Indiana Supreme Court Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure has posted the following:

Electronic Filing and Electronic Service

The Indiana Supreme Court approved a plan for statewide e-filing that is expected to begin in phases starting in 2015.  The proposed Trial Rule 86 would allow electronic filing of documents in all Indiana courts.  It provides for the initiation of actions by electronic filing, service, signatures, the time and effect of electronic filing, and establishes a process for exempting persons who are not able to use electronic filing.
