The Indiana War Memorials consist of the Indiana War Memorial, Soldiers & Sailors Monument, University Park, Veteran's Memorial Plaza, American Legion Mall and the USS Indianapolis Memorial. They are operated by the Indiana War Memorials Commission to commemorate the valor and sacrifice of Hoosier veterans of our nation's conflicts and to provide for the education and enjoyment of visitors.
There are two Indiana War Memorial Museums. A "time-line" museum of Indiana's role in our nation's conflicts is housed in the lower level of the Indiana War Memorial building. The Colonel Eli Lilly Civil War Museum is in the lower level of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument. The War Memorial and the museums are closed on Monday and Tuesday and on national and state holidays except for Memorial Day and Veterans Day. There is no admission charge for either museum. Hours of operation are:
