ITPC > Community Programs > Statewide Partners Statewide Partners

ITPC Statewide partnerships use evidenced-based tobacco prevention and cessation efforts for youth and adults. They include efforts to mobilize strong partner coalitions that reflect ITPC targeted populations and support the ITPC Mission and Program Objectives.

360 Group/IHSAA Role Model Program and Youth Speakers' Bureau
The Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) is committed to reaching parents, students, and administrators with a tobacco free message. Through the role model program, outstanding athletes from around the state are selected to appear in posters and schedules that promote tobacco free lifestyles. These youth are trained on how to use their athletic skills as well as their communication skills to talk to both teens and adults about the benefits of living, working, and playing in a smoke free environment.

Clarian Health Partners
"Bringing Indiana Along works to encourage mental health and substance abuse providers to integrate tobacco treatment and smoke free grounds policies in these settings. The project educates mental health and substance abuse providers on tobacco treatment and impact of tobacco use among their population of patients. A second objective for this partner is to motivate women of child-bearing age (18-44 yrs) in target counties with high rates of smoking during pregnancy, to quit smoking. Primary action to achieve lower rates of smoking during pregnancy is to link these women to the Indiana Tobacco Quitline through outreach to women's health providers and through media messaging.

Indiana State Fair
ITPC has been a sponsor of the Indiana State Fair since 2001. The impact of this partnership continues to grow each year, especially as the State Fairgrounds extends its nonsmoking policy to new areas. Smoke-free policy messages and signage covers the grounds, and educational brochures are displayed in fair venues year-round. For the duration of the State Fair, the WhiteLies.tv booth distributes information on smoking cessation and the Indiana Tobacco Quitline, and the VOICE booth (staffed primarily by youth advocates) engages visitors with exciting activities and giveaways. Every year, VOICE sponsors Tobacco Free Kids Day and the evening concert featuring popular teen performers.
