Chief Medical Officer

Melissa CollierMelissa Collier is an internist and pediatrician who began her public health career as one of CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officers in 2010, assigned to the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH). After completing EIS, she worked as a Medical Epidemiologist for CDC’s Division of Viral Hepatitis (DVH) Epidemiology Team for 5 years, during which time she investigated dozens of outbreaks of hepatitis A, B, and C, participated in the Ebola emergency response at the Newark Quarantine Station, and participated in the Zika emergency response in the CDC’s Occupational Health Clinic. She then led the Programs Team in DVH’s Prevention Branch for a year and a half before returning to ISDH as the agency’s Chief Medical Officer.
