Trauma System/Injury Prevention Program Home > 2013 Statewide Trauma Tours 2013 Statewide Trauma Tours

The Division of Trauma and Injury Prevention has completed both tours around the state that updated the trauma community on what the Division has been doing since the "Listening Tour" last year and to educate as many people as possible about what to expect as we continue to put together a comprehensive statewide trauma system for the State of Indiana.  The second trip around the state, the Division and ImageTrend taught interested providers how to use the free ImageTrend EMS software that was discussed in the first tour.

2013 Trauma Tour Documents

There were two components to our first tour this year. First, we presented the activities in which we have been involved since the last time we traveled. The “Listening Tour” last year was extremely helpful for us at the state as we began to put together the necessities for a comprehensive and active statewide trauma system. We shared our achievements as well as our roadblocks with all of our partners and stakeholders.

Secondly, we wanted to show you what we have planned for the upcoming year and received input on our ideas so that we can maximize our effectiveness in helping you deliver care to your patients on a daily basis. Part of this component was a presentation on a free product that we are making available to anyone who would like to start collecting data for quality improvement. We understand the costs associated with upgrading computers and purchasing software, and we would like to help defray those costs by presenting a completely free version of EMS run data software. We hoped to show providers how valuable data collection and analysis can be for your organization, planning, budgeting and care delivery.

2013 Training Tour

On the second trip around the state, we taught interested providers how to use the free ImageTrend software that we discussed in the first tour. This training was for anyone in any EMS role who might be responsible for collecting data, analyzing data for better results or interested in learning more about how data collection can help your organization.

This time around, we traveled with partners from ImageTrend so that they could give you a better understanding of how the software works and what it can do for you. We suggested that at least one person from each EMS provider attend this training to understand what is provided and what is expected in the future of EMS data collection.
