All the data are for 2004 unless otherwise noted. The names of the file and a brief description follows:


Reported Pregnancies:
This table shows the number of reported pregnancies by county of residence and age of mother. Reported pregnancies include live births, fetal deaths (20 or more weeks gestation), and terminated pregnancies that occurred in Indiana to Indiana residents.These are reported pregnancies for all races.The table does not break them out by race.


Reported Pregnancy Rates:
This table shows the rate of reported pregnancies by county of residence and age of mother.The rates are reported pregnancies per 1,000 women in the specified age groups.


Live Births:
This table shows the number of live births by age of mother and county of residence.There are separate tables for total, white and black births.


Fetal Deaths:
These tables show the fetal deaths and rates by county of residence by age, race and hispanic origin of mother.


Terminated Pregnancies:
This table shows the number of terminated pregnancies by county of residence and age of mother.


Breastfeeding:
This table shows the number of women breastfeeding at the time of hospital discharge.The data are by county of residence and race of mother.


Cancer Incidence:
These tables show the cancer incidence numbers and rates by county of residence for 2002.This is the latest year for cancer incidence data.There is a separate table for each type of cancer.


Fertility Data:


Fertility Rates:
This table shows the General Fertility Rates by county.The rates are births per 1,000 women age 15-44.Significance of the rates is included.


Age-Specific Birth Rates:
This table shows the birth rates (fertility rates) by age of mother and county of residence.


Infant Deaths:
These tables show the infant, neonatal, and postneonatal deaths and rates by county of residence by race and hispanic origin.


Injuries:
These tables show the number of deaths from injuries by county and age at death. Suicides and homicides are included in the tables.


Outcome Indicators:

These tables show the number and percent for outcome indicatorsby county of residence and race of mother.These are the outcome indicators, which are listed in the tables: low birth weight, very low birth weight, preterm births, prenatal care in the first trimester, alcohol and smoking during pregnancy, and unmarried parents. Significance of the percents is included.There are separate tables for numbers and percents for each race.

Population: This table gives the Estimated Female Population in Indiana.


Poverty under age 18:
This table was taken from the Bureau of the Census website. This gives an estimate of the number of children under the age of 18 that are below the poverty level. They also include confidence intervals for these numbers. They are not broken out by race.
