The Public Affairs team, comprised of ISDA’s Communications and Policy staff, is the department’s central point of communication with the media, the general public, other state agencies, and elected officials. Through news releases, fact sheets, policy guidance, and proactive outreach, we facilitate public understanding of the State’s agriculture industry, promote the growth of agricultural businesses, and serve as a liaison between the public, businesses, state agencies, and local units of government.Media Contact:
The Policy staff work with elected officials on the local, state, and federal level to benefit all Hoosiers involved in the agriculture industry by educating and serving those who have the power to improve the direction of the agriculture industry in Indiana. We work with state agencies, rural communities, consumers, producers, and agricultural organizations to ensure Indiana has laws and regulations that are based in science and do not impeded economic development in agriculture. Additionally, we serve as a regulatory ombudsman by assisting agricultural businesses with the permit process required to conduct business in Indiana and serving as a liaison to other governmental agencies.
