The Indiana State Department of Agriculture's livestock grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations to foster growth within the Hoosier livestock industry. Educational programs, livestock shows/exhibitions, conventions and similar events and projects are eligible to apply for livestock promotion funding. The market development grant provides funding for value-added feasibility studies, research projects, market development and other projects that encourage the development of business and industry related to livestock production, processing and distribution. Both the livestock promotion and market development grants will reimburse up to 50 percent of the amount spent to conduct or support the projects, programs and events outlined in each of the grants.
The grants are open to non-profit organizations, commissions and associations with 501(c) status involving the following livestock species: cattle, swine, sheep, equine, goats, poultry, camelids, ostriches, cervidae, bison, aquaculture and rabbits. Applications will be accepted through Dec. 1, 2016.

Organic Certification Cost Share Program
Organic cost share programs reimburse individual organic operators up to 75 percent of their 2016 certification costs up to a maximum of $750 per category of certification. Operations must possess current USDA organic certification to be eligible to receive reimbursements. This means operations must either have successfully received their initial USDA organic certification from a USDA-accredited certifying agent, or must have incurred expenses related to the renewal of their USDA organic certification from a USDA-accredited certifying agent between October 1, 2015 and September 30, 2016. Operations with suspended or revoked certifications are ineligible for reimbursement.

Specialty Crop Block Grant
The Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA), requests applications for the fiscal year (FY) 2017 Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP) to award grants to eligible programs to carry out projects that solely enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops. The Indiana State Department of Agriculture is not currently accepting applications for the Specialty Crop Block Grant.

Clean Water Indiana Grants
The Clean Water Indiana (CWI) Program was established to provide financial assistance to landowners and conservation groups. The financial assistance supports the implementation of conservation practices which will reduce nonpoint sources of water pollution through education, technical assistance, training, and cost sharing programs. The CWI fund is administered by the Division of Soil Conservation under the direction of the State Soil Conservation Board. Learn more

Captain Planet Foundation
Due: March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31 annually: Funds can be used by non-profit organizations to promote understanding of environmental issues by focusing on hands-on involvement. Involvement of children and young adults 6-18 (elementary through high school) is required. Learn more
Pet Care Trust: Pets in the Classroom Grants Program
The goal of the Pets in the Classroom Grants Program, an initiative of the Pet Care Trust, is to establish healthy child-pet relationships at an early age by supporting responsible pet care in grammar and middle school classrooms across the country. These grants are intended to provide a means of teaching children to bond with and care for their pets. K-6 teachers in public and private schools can apply for grants or coupons in the amounts of $50, $100, or $125 for the purchase of new pets and pet environments, as well as food and supplies for existing classroom pets.
