Bruce C. Embrey

Bruce C. Embrey was admitted to practice in 1976, and was elected Judge of the Miami county court in 1976. He served as a judge in Miami County, in Superior and then Circuit Court, until his retirement from the bench in 2002. Judge Embrey was the author of the first through fourth editions of the Indiana Child Support Official Commentary, served a term as President of the Indiana Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, and was Chairman of the Judicial Center’s Education Committee at retirement.

He opened a private practice upon retirement and conducted a general practice of law for the next eight years. Included in his practice was service as city attorney for Peru, and attorney for Peru Municipal Utilities. He was elected prosecutor in 2010 and took office January 1, 2011.

Prosecutor Embrey and his wife Cheryl, have three adult children and four grandchildren. In his spare time he serves as ringmaster for the Peru Youth Circus, and is a founder and facilitator for TEAM Miami County, a Youth Leadership Academy. He serves on the Legislative committee of the Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council.
