Bruce Embrey was admitted to practice in May, 1976, and was elected Judge of the Miami county court in November, 1976. He served as a judge in Miami County, in Superior and then Circuit Court, until his retirement from the bench on November 1, 2002. Judge Embrey was the author of the first through fourth editions of the Indiana Child Support Official Commentary, served a term as President of the Indiana Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, and was Chairman of the Judicial Center’s Education Committee at retirement.
Bruce opened a private practice upon retirement and conducted a general practice of law for the next eight years. Included in his practice was service as City Attorney for Peru, and attorney for Peru Municipal Utilities. He was elected Prosecutor in 2010 and took office January 1, 2011.
Bruce and his wife, Cheryl, have three adult children and four grandchildren. In his spare time he serves as ringmaster for the Peru Youth Circus, and is a founder and facilitator for TEAM Miami County, a Youth Leadership Academy. He serves o n the Legislative committee of IPAC.
