Elected Prosecutor in November 2010, Terry Curry has practiced as a trial lawyer for more than 30 years in Indiana and Federal courts. His diverse trial experience from 1978 to the present has included employment as a Deputy Prosecutor in the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, as a law firm partner, and as a solo practitioner. He has served as lead counsel in more than 125 court and jury trials, arbitrations, and injunction hearings.
Terry is a graduate of Butler University. After graduation in 1971, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1973. After discharge from the Army, Terry was employed as a reporter for the Indianapolis News from 1973 to 1975.
In 1975, Terry entered Indiana University Law School to pursue his dream of becoming a trial attorney. He graduated with highest honors of summa cum laude in 1978.
Terry has been working for Marion County for almost 7 years. The first 6, he spent as a Deputy Prosecutor until he was elected the Marion County Prosecutor and has been in office since January 1, 2011.
Terry and his family live in Indianapolis, where he enjoys spending time with his grandchildren.
