Madison County Prosecutor - Rodney J. Cummings

In November 2014, Rodney was elected to his 5th term as Madison County Prosecuting Attorney; his first term was 1994. He served as a deputy prosecutor in Marion County, Delaware County, and Hamilton County. He is a graduate of the National District Attorneys Career Prosecutor and Executive Courses, the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, and the Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis. He has tried over 100 major felony and homicide jury trials including one successful death penalty prosecution. He was selected to the faculty of the National Advocacy Center for 13 courses where he taught trial advocacy skills to America’s prosecutors. He has been a presenter at the Indiana Prosecutor’s Conference, the Delaware Attorney General’s Annual Conference, and the New Mexico District Attorney’s Annual Conference. Prior to his election as prosecuting attorney, Cummings served 15 years as an Anderson Police Officer including 9 years as major felony and homicide detective.
