ClaraMary Winebrenner was born and raised in DeKalb County. After receiving a B.A. in History with a Concentration in Russian Studies, she graduated from Northwestern School of Law in 1989. She returned to the firm started by her grandfather and headed by her father, then known as VanHorne, Turner, Stuckey and McCanna, where she had a general civil practice, at times including work as a part-time deputy prosecutor. In late 2005, she was selected by Republican Caucus to finish the term of my predecessor, Monte Brown, who had been appointed judge of the newly created DeKalb Superior Court II, and she has been elected twice thereafter.
