Life Events changes in ERM are coming

Look for the drop down menus for life events to change in the near future. The menus will only show life event types that are applicable to a specific fund’s submission unit. For example, a sabbatical leave is available for TRF employers, but not for PERF employers. This type of leave would appear in the life event menu for TRF employers only.

The other major change to life events is the employer requirement to enter service credit days for TRF life events. Employers enter this information in ERM when members return from a leave. For TRF, most life events require members to return to work for the length of time they were off on leave for a specific life event. This is necessary for members to earn the service credit associated with their life event.

The life events section in the ERM user manuals has been updated to reflect these changes and can be found here.

The Wage and Contribution Exception Queue Quick Reference Guide (QRG) located here has also been updated to reflect the new validations (SE-40 through SE-55) in place with the changes to life events.

Submit last day in pay and help us avoid retirement delays

Remember to submit last day in pay (LDIP) for employees who are retiring. INPRS needs this information for retirement processing. Without it, a member’s pension payment is delayed. Help us out and submit LDIP in a timely manner. We want members to have a smooth transition from work to retirement.
