Soft open is considered a great testing period

In summer 2012, employers will be able to practice various functions in ERM during a soft open period before ERM’s actual go-live in October. Make sure you are prepared.

Take advantage of training: Resources are available now. Quick Reference Guides (QRGs), Manuals, and Computer Based Training (CBT) are available 24/7. Take a CBT and then sign up for one of the many Workshops throughout the state. Workshops offer hands-on training for Member Management and Wage and Contribution activities in ERM. These workshops will greatly prepare you for the practice activities you should be performing during the soft open period. You may attend a workshop before soft-open and again before go-live to refresh your knowledge of the application. For more information, visit er.inprs.in.gov.
 
Return your Forms: The ERM Data Setup form must be returned. INPRS cannot set up an employer’s account if we have not received this form. Only the individual designated on this form will be set up for access to ERM during soft open. Some employers were also required to submit the Authorized Agent Designated to Perform Necessary Duties form.

Check your Bulk Files: If you plan to use bulk upload files to submit information, test your file structure now. Testing specifically focuses on file structure and not the data in the file. Confirming correct file structure now will allow you to focus on data validation during soft open. Please e-mail your employer name and number to erm@inprs.in.gov for more information on how to initiate this testing process.

Minimum Requirements: Your computer must meet the minimum system requirements for ERM. More information is available here.

ERM set to launch in Oct. 2012

Delayed from its initial April 2012 date, the Employer Reporting and Maintenance (ERM) application will launch Oct. 2012.

ERM timeline:

Summer 2012: A soft open period of 60-90 days will allow employers to practice enrolling members, submitting wages and contributions, etc. This is a test environment; information entered during the soft open will be erased at go-live.
 
October 1, 2012: Authorized Agents or their designees will log in to the ERM application to perform data setup and verification.

Late October 2012: Employers will begin submitting wages and contributions and performing other member and employer maintenance tasks via ERM.
