INDOT operates the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Supportive Services program in conjunction with its DBE program, which is funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and administered by INDOT’s Economic Opportunity Division. As required by federal law, INDOT’s Supportive Services program promotes increased participation of DBEs on federally funded highway and bridge contracts. The primary purpose of the DBE Supportive Services program is to provide training, assistance, and services to firms that are certified in the DBE program within the State of Indiana.
The DBE Supportive Services program provides many excellent resources, including individual business assistance, intended to help DBEs excel and graduate from the DBE Program. The program offers a variety of services and resources to facilitate the firms' development into viable, self-sufficient businesses that are capable of competing for and performing on federally assisted highway and bridge projects.
The Supportive Services program provides training and other assistance to Indiana based firms to assist those firms to become ready, willing and able to participate on INDOT highway and bridge projects. The DBE Supportive Services program offers resources to facilitate the development of viable, self-sufficient businesses that are capable of competing for and performing on federally assisted highway contracts. INDOT’s Entrepreneurial Development Institute (EDI) provides specialized management and related training to selected construction and design firms with potential for developing in highway and related construction markets. The Statewide Indiana DBE Initiative (SINDI) provides DBEs and program eligible minority and women firms in construction and related fields the opportunity to learn more about how to do business with INDOT.
