The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) in partnership with the FSSA – State of Indiana Division of Aging has launched a new program called Home Again.  The Home Again program is funded under the Money Follows the Person Rebalancing Demonstration award that the State of Indiana was awarded in January 2007.  The Money Follows the Person demonstration will support the State of Indiana’s efforts to rebalance long-term support system so individuals have a choice of where they live and receive services, as well as transition individuals from institutions who want to live in their communities.

The Home Again Program will provide property owners who are recipients of IHCDA’s multi-family awards including CDBG, HOME, Development Fund, and Rental Housing Tax a one-time lump sum, per unit payment in exchange for reducing its allowable Area Median Income rent by 50% to pre-qualified tenants.   In addition, IHCDA will make available, on a reimbursement basis, funds for accessibility improvements to units that the property owner agrees to make available to participants of the Home Again Program.
