The name of this resource is the Uniform Government Code for the Executive Branch of Indiana Government, and may be referred to as the Uniform Government Code or UGC.
The purpose of the UGC is to provide all persons a centralized and concise resource of laws addressing state business for the executive branch of Indiana government. The goal of the UGC is to educate all persons on state business, and in the process, prevent wrongdoing.
The UGC applies to executive branch state agencies (including quasi-agencies), executive branch state elected officials and persons doing business with both groups, including executive branch lobbyists.
The Indiana (1) judiciary, (2) legislative, and (3) local government units are excluded from the application of the UGC, although many of the UGC provisions addressing general laws may apply to all Indiana citizens.
Originated by the Office of Inspector General, the UGC is a work in progress. Users are invited and encouraged to notify the OIG of additional information needed or if any errors are found.
The UGC also permits access to cross-references. Hyperlinks within the sections permit access to references or the citation to a particular rule.
