IDOI > Indiana Navigators > Requirements for Indiana Navigators; Lists of Approved Training Providers Requirements for Indiana Navigators; Lists of Approved Training Providers

Precertification Education (PE)

As part of the initial application process to become an Indiana Navigator, all potential Indiana Navigators will need to complete Navigator precertification education (PE) prior to taking the certification examination. The topics of the PE training will include information on consumer assistance, the federally-facilitated Marketplace, and Medicaid; including basic information and state-specific application. In order to complete Navigator PE, individuals will need to locate a Navigator PE course provider that has been approved by the IDOI to provide Indiana Navigator PE training. The cost of the PE training may vary based on the source of the training.

Continuing Education (CE)

Each year, in order to maintain current knowledge and understanding of consumer assistance, the federal Marketplace, and Medicaid changes and implementation, all Indiana Navigators must complete at least two (2) hours of continuing education (CE). Much like the precertification training, an individual may use his or her associated Application Organization or a third party training entity as a source for continuing education. The cost of CE may vary, based on the source of the training.
