Facility History

Madison Juvenile Correctional Facility was relocated from the Indianapolis Juvenile Correctional Facility to the Madison State Hospital grounds in Madison, Indiana.  Prior to receiving students, a renovation of the buildings was done by offenders from the Henryville Correctional Facility.  The renovation included remodeling one of the older buildings to a junior/senior high school.  Madison Juvenile Correctional Facility received the first female juveniles in November 2009.   Madison is currently the only female juvenile facility in Indiana.
