This first-of-its-kind plan will guide the Indiana Department of Correction over the next four (4) years. The Department will strive to reach the goals and objectives contained in the 2010-2013 Strategic Plan by means of clearly identified value statements, strategic issues, strategic goals, strategic statements, objectives, responsible parties, action plans, and working groups.
The development of the IDOC’s Strategic Plan began in January 2009 with the establishment of four (4) Regional Strategic Planning Teams: North, Central, South, and Headquarters. Included on each team were representatives from all facets of corrections: custody, administrative, supervisory, education, adult, juvenile, parole, community corrections, universities, non-custody, etc. In all, over 100 individuals worked in collaboration over seven (7) months to develop a final product that will direct the Department for the next four (4) years and serve as a catalyst into future partnerships, collaborations, and positive achievements.
