Religious Services - Putnamville offers a wide variety of religious services to the offender population. Volunteers assist with services, bible studies, and weekend events.
The Purposeful Living Units Serve (PLUS) program is a faith and character-based community within the facility. The emphasis of this voluntary initiative focuses on strengthening spiritual moral and character development as well as life-skills. Volunteers are needed to provide mentoring to offenders and facilitate the classes. http://www.in.gov/idoc/2356.htm
Re-Entry - Re-Entry classes are given to offenders nearing their release into the community. Volunteers in the Re-Entry Department cover an array of topics that are beneficial to offenders as they prepare of their release.
Putnamville is currently seeking volunteers to help with the following groups or programs:
- Moorish Science Temple of America
- Native Americans
- Fatherhood classes
- Jewish group
- Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous
Putnamville is always in need of donations of clothing for those being released, specifically men's pants.
