IDEM’s Challenge to be a CLEAN Community is helping communities achieve goals to make Indiana a cleaner, healthier place to live. The Challenge is about ensuring a better quality of life for all Hoosiers, now and for generations to come.

IDEM’s Challenge to be a CLEAN Community is a free and voluntary program aimed at challenging and rewarding Indiana communities for proactively managing environmental and health impacts associated with governmental operations. The Challenge is designed to be flexible - municipalities choose activities that fit their community goals. The CLEAN Community Challenge can potentially help communities cut operating costs, while improving the quality of life for residents.
