Air Quality in Indiana

Air Quality in Indiana > Monitoring > Continuous Air Quality Monitoring > Carbon Monoxide (CO) Data Map Carbon Monoxide (CO) Data Map

CO is a poisonous gas that, when introduced into the bloodstream, inhibits the delivery of oxygen to body tissue. The health risk is greatest for individuals with cardiovascular disease.

IDEM operates six continuous CO monitoring sites that are polled hourly in order to obtain the most current information. This continuous data is available by clicking on the map or the table below. The new “Indpls - I-70 E” monitor is in the process of being installed and it is expected that CO readings will be available by January 1, 2014.
