The term length of a Rule 6 permit is 5 years. IDEM has established the Notice of Intent receipt date as the actual start of permit coverage for all new submittals. Upon renewal of a permit, the “effective date” will begin on the expiration date of the previous 5 year permit term.

Permits are required to be renewed Ninety (90 days) prior to the expiration of the permit (Permit Renewal).
