Chapter 4 - Section IV: What Other Tools Does IDEM Use to Protect the Environment?
In addition to permits, inspections, and enforcement programs, IDEM offers other services and conducts programs to help protect Hoosiers and our environment. These services and programs include: environmental monitoring and sampling, data collection and modeling, public education and outreach, technical assistance for business and industry, technical licensing and training programs, and vehicle maintenance programs. There are also grants and loans and various incentive programs to encourage recycling and pollution reduction.
