Introduction

All applicants seeking to submit a proposal to the Indiana Charter School Board ("ICSB") are first required to submit a non-binding Letter of Intent ("LOI") indicating their interest in applying to the ICSB. Only those applicants that meet the LOI deadline are eligible to submit a Full Application. Please note that submission of the LOI does not obligate the applicant to submit a Full Application. All LOIs and Full Application submissions will be posted on the ICSB website. Before beginning the application, please review the ICSB Application FAQs for helpful information.

The review process for Full Applications includes: (1) a review by ICSB staff, external experts, and legal counsel; (2) interviews with ICSB staff; (3) regional public hearings; and (4) Q&A with ICSB Board members. The ICSB makes final charter determinations at scheduled Board meetings. Board meetings during which charter applications are either approved or declined are streamed live over the internet.
